O Come, All Ye Faithful
The November catch ups listed above are all in addition to our festive party.
As a reminder, we’re asking you to join us at Darlinghurst’s Universal Sydney on Thursday 27 November.

Expect a night of festive cheer and plenty of party classics. Whether you’re based in Sydney or on the Central Coast, we invite you to join us for our Christmas gathering.
Silent night
Back by popular demand, we're going silent for this year's festive shindig!
That's right, we'll be partying to the sounds of a silent disco. With multiple channels on offer, you choose the tunes!
We'll then round the night off with a live DJ set. Expect plenty of bangers and the odd Christmas remix.
And no Gig Buddies' party is complete without our usual door prizes.
Now bring us some figgy pudding!
And in our attempts to keep costs to a minimum, we will not be providing food at this year's party.
Instead, on the night attendees can order and pay for their own food from the venue.

"The view over the lake is beautiful…"
Each and every month we bring you the news and ongoings from those who make up our user-led team, Soul Fly Buddies.
Today we hear from Lachy, who tells us more about his recent trip away.
"I recently had a relaxing holiday in Forster with my mother and our extended family. This is our annual get together for a beach and lake gathering which is funny because we live near beaches and lakes. Most mornings we walked down to a café called 1959 near the bridge that connects Forster and Tuncurry. The café’s name comes from the year that particular bridge was built.

We were all staying on the same floor of the Sevan apartments so we could just walk between families and every night we had dinner together in someone’s apartment. After that we walked down to the town for an ice cream.
The only downside was that one night after my mother had gone to bed the stupid diabetes tracking app that I use to monitor my blood glucose levels failed and I fell unconscious. Mum woke up and called 000. The ambos gave me some intravenous dextrose to bring me around. I woke up to find four ambulance officers looking at me but they were very nice and we had a bit of a chat.
I always like going around some of the second hand shops looking for DVDs and got some good ones this time. We even had a quick trip to Taree to check out some up there.
On the last day we had lunch at our favourite restaurant in Forster, The Sicilian, which has moved from the beach to the lake. The view over the lake is beautiful and we watched people going past on boats.

Last Tuesday I went to congratulate Matt at the Local Heroes award ceremony at Tuggerah. He was one of three and was a runner up so well done, Matt."

Thank you
Following on from Lachy’s words, it was an honour to be have Matthew nominated by the community for the 2025 Westfield Local Heroes award.

We would like to say a massive "thank you" to Westfield Tuggerah for allowing us the opportunity to tell our story. As an organisation that relies on volunteers, we’re always grateful for any form of promotion - and the prize money will help go towards marketing who we are and what we do.
