Volunteering as a Gig Buddy
This page is for volunteers who want to go to events with an adult with a learning disability and/or autism.
What does a Gig Buddy volunteer do?
As a Gig buddies volunteer you will assist an adult with mild to moderate learning disability and/or autism to access the community, attend events, and have fun!
No experience is needed!
You will receive training and ongoing support.
You and your buddy will go to an event, activity or just catch up once a month for at least 12 months.
You and your buddy choose the events and activities you both want to attend.
You can also come along to Gig Buddies hosted events (see our What’s On page). These are a great way to meet other volunteers and participants.

What volunteers are saying about Gig Buddies

"It’s been such a special, fulfilling time.
Meeting Kieran has bettered me as a person and I learn things from him all the time.
We have a lot of fun and it is drama free.
Very refreshing when compared to other relationships/areas of life."

Volunteer
At Gig Buddies we have another volunteering role that is perfect for people who can't commit to being a "Gig Buddy".
The new role is called a "GSS" or "Group Social Support" volunteer.
As a GSS you will help out at Gig Buddies group social events.
