Join us on Thursday

We celebrate turning 8 this week and we’re down to the final few tickets for our birthday bash - grab yours before it’s too late.

The deadline to purchase birthday tickets is midday tomorrow (Tuesday 9/5).

As a reminder, we’re set to take over The Barrie. On the night we’ll be bringing you live music, food, a visit from Gig Buddies founder, Paul Richards, and lucky door prizes.

Whether you’re based in Sydney or on the Central Coast, we invite you dust off those dancing shoes and party with us in Chippendale.

Our 8th birthday party runs from 7 - 10pm and tickets cost $35 per person. To find out more about this Thursday's gathering at The Barrie (and to purchase your ticket), click here.

Our birthday gathering aside, we also invite you to two other events we’re hosting in May.

Firstly, we invite you to connect with us in Miranda in Sydney’s south for a bite to eat at The Bavarian. And later in the month we head to Gosford for Central Coast’s Comicon.

Two up

Here’s us introducing our two newly trained volunteers.

It was great to meet Matt and Amanda (above, L - R) last week. Thanks for joining us on Zoom for training.

The growing Gig Buddies community

And finally, as some of you may have seen, buddies Neilo and Jan made a social media splash last week.

Featuring on the NDIS’ social media channels, you can read their ‘Neilo’s buddied up and out spreading his wings socially’ interview here.

In reply, project founder, Paul Richards, has penned a blog post about the expanding Gig Buddies community. Since launching in 2013 in Brighton the program is now running in seven countries - supporting over 1,000 adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities.

In the words of Paul: “(Gig buddies is) about having people in your life who aren’t paid to be there. Someone who cares about spending time with you. Money literally can’t buy that!”
