Inner Westies, we call on you

Writer's picture: Gig Buddies SydneyGig Buddies Sydney

This forthcoming Wednesday (26/6) Tony and Harri from the Gig Buddies Sydney team will be at Ashfield’s Civic Centre, looking to inform locals about who we are and what we do.

While we are awash with fabulous volunteers from the Inner West, we are looking for participants. If you or someone you know from the area has a mild to moderate learning disability and would like to get out more, head to 260 Liverpool Road between 11am and 3pm.

Pony pictures in

And continuing on the subject of the Inner West, we held our latest social event last Friday (21/6) at Marrickville’s Gasoline Pony. Thanks to everyone who joined us in the Inner West.

Hats off to Fiona and her wonderful team for accommodating us, and thanks to the excellent Jo Fabro’s Home Cookin’ for “bringing back the blues, keeping it low down and soulful”.

Sport, music and wrestling

As for our next social event, this takes place on Sunday 7 July.

Come join your fellow buddies as we head to Cronulla for the Sharks vs. Brisbane Broncos game. Kicking off at 4pm, we’ll once again be offering a bus service from both Milsons Point and Central Station. For ticket information click here.

And for those looking for more, we have three other up-and-coming events: on Saturday 27 July we take over Sydney Sea Life Aquarium for our very own Christmas in July party; we head west to Marayong’s Community Centre on Friday 2 August for a bout of wrestling; and we hold our annual free NRL fundraiser on Saturday 24 August - this time for the game between Cronulla Sharks and New Zealand Warriors.

Two more to go

Welcome to the Gig Buddies Sydney family, Leanne and Vicky (left, L - R) and Tahli and Ariel (right, L - R) - our two newest pairings.

It's a pleasure to have you on board and we look forward to seeing you out and about.
