Winners are grinners

This is your last chance to go in the draw to win a cash prize courtesy of our ‘refer a Coastie Gig Buddy’ competition.

As a reminder, if you know someone who would be a suitable fit for Gig Buddies Central Coast, we’re offering you the chance to win.

For every referral made, whether it's a buddy or volunteer, you’ll go in the draw to win one of three prizes.

We’ll be giving away $100 cash to the person who is drawn first out the hat, with $50 going to the runner up and we’ll reward the third person with $25.

We’re looking for both volunteers and for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities and/or autism. They must reside within the Central Coast and all referrals must submit an online application. Buddies can sign up by clicking here while volunteers can load up the following link.

You have until 10pm on Monday 7 June to enter our competition.

If you have any questions or would like more information about our referral competition, send us an email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org, get in touch on Facebook Messenger or contact us via text or on the phone on 0422 061 990.

Connecting with Coasties

On the subject of promoting Gig Buddies Central Coast, last Thursday (27/5) I was joined Soul Fly Band members Stavros and Jack, who along with Bec (below, L - R) advocated for the project at the NDIS Networking lunch in Tuggerah.

Networking with likeminded organisations and individuals, we spoke about the accomplishments of the Sydney project and how we aim to replicate such successes on the Coast.

Later I was joined by both Jack and Stavros (below), who relayed their own personal reasons on why people should join Gig Buddies Central Coast.

Thank you to our Sydney-based advocates Jack, Stavros and Bec.

Land ahoy

Hats off to everyone who joined us by the water in the Shire on Sunday.

Yesterday (30/5) we met up with a group of buddies in Cronulla before taking the ferry to Bundeena for a bite to eat.

It’s (almost) a sell out

Last week we announced our June movements.

Our outings to Milky Lane in Gregory Hills and the retro disco gig in Ryde have since sold out, and we’re down to the final few tickets for the 80s trivia event in Kingsford.

Click on the link above if you’d like to join us at The Juniors on Wednesday 16 June.

Let there be light

Talking of announcements, Sydney Vivid Festival released their schedule this week.

As has been the case for the past five years, we’ll be returning to select events. Having missed out in 2020 due to Covid, we can’t wait to bring you information on the gigs to which we have received discounted entry.

In the meantime, click here to see what’s happening between 6 - 28 August.

Drawing against the clock ✏️

This week we invite buddies to connect with us online for Pictionary.

Pens and paper at the ready, we’re drawing objects against the clock. If you’d like to join us on Zoom, click on the link listed below:

One more to the team

This week we made one new pairing.

Say hello to Ranya and Sarah (above, L - R). Welcome to the family, we look forward to seeing you out and about.

And another soon to go….

Likewise, we’re pumped to welcome Steph (below) to the team.

Thank you for coming in for volunteer training last week - we look forward to introducing you to your buddy soon.
