May-eight!

Macarthur Square, Brookvale, Miranda, Cabramatta, Mangrove Mountain, Revesby, Rozelle and Davistown: we’re coming to you in May.

For the final month of autumn we’ve arranged EIGHT socials - and we’re inviting buddies to join us for breakfast and board games, pub trivia, lunch and dinners, doggy daycare, a guided tour of the Biennale of Sydney exhibition, and DJ bingo.

Party on!

Our newly announced May outings are all in addition to our 11th birthday bash.

Since sharing our intentions last week, tickets have been flying out the door!

As a reminder, we’re inviting buddies to celebrate with us on Thursday 21 May as we take over Newtown’s The Vanguard.

Expect a night of live music and great company. Whether you’re based in Sydney or on the Central Coast, we invite you to join us for our birthday bash.

Tickets to our birthday cost $30 and include live music, lucky door prizes and much more.

Four complete, four fully booked out and two to go.

Between now and the end of March you’ll find us in Campbelltown and Kingsford.

Firstly, on Friday 27 March we head west, catching up at Campbelltown RSL for a Friday night feast.

Then two days later (Sunday 29/3) you’ll find us in Kingsford for music bingo.

Be quick, tickets to both are selling fast. To sign up, load up the links below:

Please note, tomorrow’s bowling meet up in Dee Why, along with this weekend’s music gatherings in Five Dock and Erskineville, and next Tuesday’s trivia social in Macquarie Park are all sold out.

All go in April

And as for April, we’re hosting TEN gatherings, three of which have now sold out.

Ten pin bowling, a self-guided tour of Q Station Museum, movies, arcades, BBQs, dinners and trivia: we’ve plenty going on.

Three up

We’ve a trio of new matches we want to talk about.

Say hello to Uoka and Vinny (left, L - R), Charlotte and Yasmin (top right, L - R) and Veronica and Seb (bottom right, L - R).

It’s great to have you all on board.

Together against Loneliness

This forthcoming Saturday (21/3) is World Down Syndrome.

Take from the WDSD website: "World Down Syndrome Day was created to celebrate the lives of people with Down syndrome and to make sure they have the same freedoms and opportunities as everybody else.

21st March (21/3) matches the 3 copies of chromosome 21. This is unique to people with Down syndrome."

We at Gig Buddies stand fully aligned with this year’s theme of ‘Together against Loneliness’.

"Everyone feels lonely sometimes. But for many people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities, loneliness is a more common and painful experience."

Our ongoing fight to tackle social isolation for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities and/or autism continues.

Happy Harmony

And this week also sees us celebrate Harmony Week.

Running from today to Sunday (22/3), "Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds.

It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone."

This year's theme of 'Everyone Belongs', emphasising inclusion, respect, and cultural diversity' is a message we’re fully behind.
