Mardi Gras, baby 🤩 🏳️‍🌈

We’re excited to bring you news of a Gig Buddies Sydney first - we’ll be marching at this year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

Taking place on Saturday 6 March at Sydney Cricket Ground, we’re calling on the Gig Buddies Sydney community to join us as we show support for the LGBTQI+ community and celebrate diversity.

We’re looking for buddies, volunteers and supporters to join us. We have 40 places available and we’re on the hunt for dancers, placard and banner holders, a photographer / videographer and, for those who can’t make it on March 6th but would like to help out, prop designers.

To see a complete list of roles, and to find out how you can join us, click here.

As per Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade policies, we need to inform event organisers of who’ll be marching with us by the beginning of February. Therefore, we’re asking people to register before Thursday 28 January.

We’re delighted to be taking part in our first ever Mardi Gras, and we’re particularly on board with this year’s theme of rise: ‘A call to action that now is the time to rise again through love, compassion, respect and understanding, and to work together to make the world a better place for all.’

If you have any questions about involvement with Sydney Mardi Gras or would like more information, send us an email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org, get in touch on Facebook Messenger or contact us via text or on the phone on either 0422 061 990 or 0412 145 819.

Sydney Festival this Friday?

As for the here and now, we still have tickets available to the three Sydney Festival events we’re to attend.

Starting this Friday (15/1), we're inviting buddies to join us at Barangaroo Reserve as we pay homage to George Michael. You’ll then find us at the Australian Design Centre’s Makers Market in Darlinghurst (23/1), followed by a walk down memory lane at the Australian Maritime Museum (29/1).

The links above have information about each event, including meeting places and performance times. Please note, the present covid situation is ever evolving and, should any of our plans change, we’ll make an announcement. Additionally, we’ll grant full refunds should the George Michael event not go ahead.
