Magic (final) touches

We’re just over four weeks out from our festive gathering and today we can reveal more information on our end of year party.

On the night buddies can expect a roving magician, live DJ, photographer and an exclusive menu offering $12 meals. We’ll also have our usual door prizes, along with a competition to win a family pass to Sydney Zoo.

All this for the bargain price of $7!

Joy to the world, the party’s on

On the subject of festive gatherings, tickets to our Central Coast offering - taking place at Avoca Beach on Saturday 5 December - are starting to move.

As a reminder, we’re catching up for lunch at Avoca’s Saltwater Bar & Bistro. Expect an afternoon of good people meeting up for food and drink.

Nights out in November

We’ve made a change to our November schedule.

Originally set to take place this Wednesday, our sushi gathering in Cammeray will now happen in December.

The five other events for the month - set to take place in Kingsford, Liverpool, Tuggerah, Concord and Ashfield - are to go ahead as planned.

To join us for live music, dinner, board games, arcades, musical bingo or karaoke, load up the links above.

Ding dong, December calls

Our recently announced December gigs are also stirring up interest.

Alongside our already-announced festive get togethers, we will be catching up in Cremorne, St Peters and Gordon for a mix of food, comedy and arcade games.

And, as mentioned above, we’ll also be stopping by Cammeray for sushi.

Doubling up

We’ve prepped two new volunteers.

Thank you, Abby and Alison (above, L - R) for joining us online for training. We’re looking forward to announcing a duo of new matches in due course.

SFB (almost) over and out for 2026

Last week we had our final Soul Fly Buddies (SFB) online meeting for the year.

We took this opportunity to talk about some of our goals for 2027, which include improving communication and looking to facilitate more sponsored Gig Buddies social events.

It was also a great opportunity to take stock of the brilliant work SFB have done this year.

From social event ideas to looking at ways to address issues of discrimination amongst security officers around Sydney, SFB members have ensured that we continue to improve and continue as a user-led project.

We greatly appreciate their time and insights, and we look forward to working with them more in 2027.

Before Soul Fly Buddies meet later this month for their end of year lunch, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Stavros, Lachy, Bevan, Nalyn, Alex, Jack, Audrey and Karen for all their efforts.

Virtual insanity

And lastly, next Monday will mark the return of our online offerings.

First up, coming live from London Carol will be taking buddies on a virtual tour of The Bayeux Tapestry, while two weeks later we’re rerunning the fun from our recent trivia fundraiser.

Then, for December, we’ve lined up an open mic night and we conclude our online offerings with a Christmas carol sing-a-long.

Please note, our online socials are open to friends and family. For those not part of the Gig Buddies’ community but would like to join in, you can also sign up from the links listed above.
