The power of the Companion Card

Last Tuesday (1/6) we hosted a Zoom information session about the NSW Companion Card. Thanks to everyone who attended.

We were fortunate to have Sophie Titmus, Project Officer with NSW Companion Card, lead the presentation. She informed attendees about the benefits of owning a card, while also raising awareness with those who may have never applied.

From a Gig Buddies perspective, we believe that the more people who have access to the Companion Card, the more opportunities participants get to head out and expand their social circles.

If you would like to know more about the NSW Companion Card, click here. Alternatively, if you would like to watch a replay of our information session, get in touch: we can be reached via email, info@gigbuddiessydney.org, on Facebook Messenger or by text or phone on 0422 061 990.

Go West

Last Friday (4/6) we headed west - travelling to Gregory Hills for our social event at Milky Lane.

It’s the furthest we’ve ever travelled to facilitate a gathering - thank you to everyone who joined us.

A trio of matches

We’re excited to reveal our three newest pairings.

Welcome to the family Lucy and Jana (top, L - R), Karla and Laura (middle, L - R) and Carmelo and Tim (bottom, L - R).

One more to go

While this week we also prepped another volunteer.

Thanks to Eamon (above) for coming in. We’re looking forward to facilitating the meeting between him and his buddy.

Stop the press

Just to let you know, there will be no newsletter next Monday due to the forthcoming long weekend. We will, however, return in a fortnight’s time, on Monday 21 June.
