Time is ticking. Our charity fundraiser takes place next Monday - now is the time to book your spot and to get your raffle tickets.

We’ve written the questions, have prepared the prizes and have worked out the surprises - and we now call on the Gig Buddies’ community and their friends, family, colleagues, neighbours and anyone else in between to support our cause by securing their spot and by buying a raffle ticket or two.

Whether trivia is your jam or not, our fundraiser will be a night of fun, prizes, giveaways and good times!

"…. throw in two massive fans…."

To mark the final Monday of the month we hand over the newsletter to one member of our user-led team, Soul Fly Buddies.

In August we hear from Jack (below left), who tells us more about watching The Odyssey with his buddy, Brendan (right).

"A new Christopher Nolan movie is a big event on it’s own….. throw in two massive fans of the director’s work such as myself and Brendan, my buddy, and our excitement was on another level.

After first paying pilgrimage to our favourite pub across from the Orpheum, Minsky’s, and ordering our customary meal of Steak Frites and a pint of creamy Guinness we ventured into the Orpheum, and little did we know what was waiting for us.

We booked for a 70 mm film screening. Film nerds will know, there are 700 seats in the main cinema and every single seat was filled with fans like ourselves, salivating at the prospect of seeing a new film from one of the greatest Hollywood directors working today.

173 minutes later we emerged with the common agreement that Nolan had done it again with a mesmerising spectacle made for the cinema screen."
