Virtual insanity
BREAKING NEWS: We’re brining back our online socials.
Relaunching in November, the plan is to host two online socials per month - taking place on select Monday nights between 7 - 8pm.
Our online gatherings proved to be a hoot during the Covid era, bringing our community together for trivia, art, music, talks, karaoke and bingo. We appreciate we no longer live under lockdown, but we also realise that our Zoom events were hugely popular - and they’re a great way to connect with our cohort of buddies who may be unable to attend our in-person gatherings.
And for those wondering, our online socials are not a replacement for our in-person offerings. From November onwards, both virtual and face-to-face gatherings will take place each and every month.
We got to connect
As for November’s virtual offerings, we invite buddies to connect with us via Zoom for the following.
To kick things off, Carol will be taking buddies on an virtual tour of The Bayeux Tapestry.
Having gone on public display in the UK for the first time since it was created nearly 1,000 years ago, The Bayeux Tapestry tells the story of the Norman conquest of England and the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
Join us for a virtual exploration of one of the world’s most famous historical objects.
Then later in the month, for those of you who couldn't join us at our recent trivia fundraiser, we invite buddies to join us online for a rerun of the fun.
And for those who came along to our trivia night in Surry Hills, you're welcome to relive the night as if it was new!

As for our in-person offerings, between now and the end of the month you will find us facilitating socials in Wyong, Dee Why, Redfern, Bella Vista, Waitara and Cronulla.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....
And on the subject of our socials, we’re excited to reveal the date of the Central Coast festive gathering.
Taking place on Saturday 5 December in Avoca, we’re asking buddies to set aside their afternoon.
Tickets and further details will be released on Monday 21 September.
Ready, set, ho, ho, ho!
Our Central Coast festive announcement follows last week’s news drop of our Sydney intentions.
The Sydney festive party is locked in for Wednesday 2 December. Taking place in Newtown, tickets will also go on sale on Monday 21 September - the day when more details on our end of year gathering will be revealed.
We appreciate people have busy schedules, especially around the festive period. Therefore, we’re requesting buddies set aside Wednesday 2 December and Saturday 5 December.
Oh what a night
And lastly, we want to take this moment to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for last Monday’s trivia fundraiser.
We were wall-to-wall with buddies, taking over Surry Hills’ Keg & Brew for our sold out event.
On the evening we also introduced our ‘pass the phone’ concept. The idea was simple: we handed out an unlocked mobile and asked those in attendance to pass it around the tables for attendees to take selfies or record videos.
Our ‘pass the phone’ gallery contains no filters, no edits and no tweaks - what you see is what was captured by those who joined us.
For us, it perfectly sums up our evening: plenty of smiles and good people coming together for a fun night. The Gig Buddies’ community is alive and kicking!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner
Our fundraiser was a night full of fun, giveaways and good times.
On the night we handed out 20 raffle prizes during our charity fundraiser, valued at over $2,700! All winners have been contacted - all prizes are in the post.
