Calling all buddies: we’re asking you to pencil the date for the Gig Buddies festive party in your diary.

Our Christmas party is locked in for Wednesday 2 December.
Taking place in Newtown, tickets will go on sale on Monday 21 September - the day when more details on our end of year gathering will be revealed.
We appreciate people have busy schedules, especially around the festive period. Therefore, we’re requesting buddies set aside the evening and get ready to dust off their dancing shoes.

In with the new
We want to take this moment to welcome those who normal subscribe to the Central Coast newsletter.
As we recently revealed, we’ve taken the decision to merge both the Central Coast and Sydney newsletters and social media channels. As such, we’ve made a tweak to our logo, highlighting the regions that we cover.

Our updated logo will be rolled out on all Gig Buddies Sydney’s social media platforms - TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram - along with our website.
Spring loaded
In other Gig Buddies’ news, so far in September we’ve hosted THREE socials, while tickets to our remaining EIGHT are starting to shift.

This month we look forward to catching up with buddies in Surry Hills, Olympic Park, Parramatta, Dee Why, Wyong, Redfern, Bella Vista, Waitara and Cronulla.

Changes to NDIS plan reassessments
We mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the Australian Government have approved a raft of changes to the NDIS and its operations.
More recently, the NDIA have announced changes to how you can ask for a plan reassessment.
From now on, the only people who can ask for a plan reassessment are:
- an NDIS participant
- their official nominee, or
- a person who officially represents an NDIS participant under the age of 18
To clarify further: support coordinators and other providers are no longer able to submit a request for an unscheduled plan reassessment on a participant’s behalf. However, they can assist a participant to prepare a request or assist a participant to prepare for the plan reassessment if needed.
If you are a parent/guardian who is overseeing a participant’s NDIS plan, it’s important for you to check that you are an official nominee for that participant.
If so, we would also encourage you to check what type of nominee you are, as there are two types:
- a plan nominee, or
- a correspondance nominee.
Ensuring the correct nominee status will make the process of applying for a plan reassessment a lot easier.
More information about nominees can be found via this link, while additional information on requesting a plan reassessment can be found here.
Tonight's the night
And finally, after weeks of marketing and organising, tonight is the night: our trivia fundraiser takes place at 6pm in Surry Hills - and we are officially SOLD OUT.
