If you’ve got it, haunt it 😱

Last Thursday was fa-boo-lous! Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Halloween boat cruise.

From witches to vampires, there were some spooktacular costumes on display.

Hats off to everyone who joined us out on the water. To see the full gallery from Thursday’s Halloween boat cruise, click here.

Fangs for the memories

When we organise Gig Buddies Sydney socials we take a gamble. Will we recoup the money spent on tickets? Will the event prove popular enough with buddies? Or will we run at a financial loss?

We initially purchased ten tickets to the boat cruise; we thought we’d struggle to sell anything more given that the event finished in the city at 11pm on a Thursday. However, due to demand we had to increase our booking on three occasions.

More than 40 buddies joined us for our Halloween cruise. When we started Gig Buddies Sydney almost five years ago we would never have had so many participants join us for an event that finished so late on a school night.

And that’s testament to our wonderful buddies and volunteers. You’ve helped foster a welcoming and passionate community - and we are delighted that this year’s Halloween boat cruise resonated with so many.

Welcome aboard

And we’re just as delighted to welcome three new pairings to the Gig Buddies Sydney family.

Say hello to Brendan and Matt (L - R, top left), Richard and Harry (L - R, top right) and Matt and Simon (not pictured). We look forward to hopefully seeing you out and about at one of our future social events.

Wanted: board members

And lastly, as many of you may know, Gig Buddies Sydney is an initiative of ACL Disability Services - an organisation with over 50 years’ experience assisting adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities.

ACL are currently looking for additional volunteer non-executive directors for appointment to the boards of ACL Limited and the ACL Foundation.
