There are some great events happening around Sydney and the Central Coast next month.

A cut and paste session for collage artists, the collage curious, or a great idea for a relaxed, low-key night out.

No prior experience is required. Share conversation, make new friends and dip into a treasure-trove of materials to create weird and wonderful collage art.

All materials are provided but please remember to bring along your favourite scissors for cutting. Food and drinks are available to purchase at the venue on the night.

The Spot Festival has grown to become a favourite in the Eastern Suburbs event circuit and is Randwick’s biggest free outdoor festival held in March each year. Experience a vibrant celebration of culture, food, live music and entertainment with plenty of stallholders, food vendors, free kids activities and local and cultural performances.

Explore the current Main Gallery exhibition featuring Petrina Hicks’s striking large-scale photographs, then respond creatively in this hands-on collage workshop lead by the Sydney Collage Society.

Using the exhibition as inspiration, participants will develop a deeper understanding of contemporary collage, exploring colour, shape, form, texture, and image placement. The workshop engages with themes of animals, the female experience, and the environment.

Led by Kubi Vasak, an experienced collage artist and member of the Sydney Collage Society, the session offers access to an extensive range of materials, including over 100 books and vintage magazines, to help bring your ideas to life.

This welcoming workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with prior experience.
