Diaries at the ready

Our March movements are here.

With the ongoing restrictions limiting our ability to meet up as a large group, we’ve arranged two more brunch gigs and we’ll also be attending our first ever ‘night at the museum’ - all in addition to next Saturday’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras event.

If you’d like to join us in Watsons Bay, Alexandria or the CBD click on the links below:

Apart from the fully booked out Mardi Gras gig, our March events are limited to 25 people per event. All are free to attend and, in the interest of fairness and to ensure we connect with as many of you as possible, we ask that buddies attend one event only.

If you have any questions or would like more information about our March events, send us an email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org, get in touch on Facebook Messenger or contact us via text or on the phone on 0422 061 990.

Pencils and texters at the ready 🎨

As for this week’s online offering, we invite buddies to join us on Zoom for a Gig Buddies Sydney art session.

This takes place on Thursday at 4pm. If you would like to get creative with us, click on the link listed below:

Thursday 4/3

All online games will take place via Zoom. For information on how to use Zoom, load up the following easy read guide written by Learning Disability Wales. Alternatively, click here to check out our 'how to use Zoom' video.

Brunch beside the lagoon

It was wonderful to catch up with so many buddies on Sunday (28/2) at Narrabeen’s Jamieson Park.

The weather held as we took in views of the lake - thanks to everyone who came along.

A trio of newbies

It’s great to welcome Anna and Holly (L - R, below) along with Kieran and Chris and Pia and Cathy (both not pictured) - our newest pairings - to the Gig Buddies Sydney family.

We look forward to hearing about your forthcoming Gig Buddies’ adventures.

We’re going to be on the telly!

As mentioned in the intro, this Saturday we march in our first ever Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade. To say we’re excited is an understatement!

Preparations have been ongoing for a number of weeks now - thanks to everyone who’s contributed so far, either by helping us design banners or by attending one of our many dance practise sessions.

We’d also like to heap praise on Paddington RSL for kindly letting us practise and film at their venue for free last Wednesday. They gratefully stepped in when the weather turned against us - thank you for providing us with a dry venue to run through out routine. As the old adage goes, one good turn deserves another: they’ve plenty of events coming up and we recommend it highly - check out their events guide here.

For those not in the know, Saturday’s Mardi Gras will be beamed into living rooms right across Australia. If you would like to see us on the big screen, tune into SBS from 7.30pm.
