Say hello to our newest Soul Fly Band members, Fraser and Tarmika.
Following January’s meeting, our user-led group wanted to recruit willing gig buddies who could join them in their ongoing mission to improve the project.
Following an appeal the Soul Fly Band are delighted to welcome the two new additions.
Both Fraser and Tarmika will now come together with other members Audrey, Stavros, Alyse and Lachie to help shape Gig Buddies Sydney.
To date our user-led group have streamlined the application process, devised policies, formalised recruitment campaigns and suggested venues for Gig Buddies Sydney social events - including our recent 3rd birthday.
In November they presented at the ASID (Australiasian Society for Intellectual Disability) Conference in Hobart (above), informing those in attendance about their role as the project’s advisory group, and back in September they met with federal MP for North Sydney, Trent Zimmerman (below).
Remember, should gig buddies, family members, support workers, volunteers, disability organisations, live music or sporting venues have suggestions for the Soul Fly Band, they can be reached via email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org
