What are Gig Buddies Group Social Events?

Gig Buddies group social events are hosted by the GB team so that all signed-up participants and volunteers in the Gig Buddies project can catch up and do fun stuff in a group setting.

Monthly group social events are held all over Metro Sydney and Central Coast.

The main focus of the Gig Buddies project is to "buddy-up" participants and volunteers so they can catch up and go to their own events together.

Gig Buddies group social events are a "bonus" way for participants to meet people and socialise.

All group social events are run as "not-for-profit".

Participants only pay for a group social event if they need to cover the cost of admission tickets, venue hire and/or catering.

Group social events are included* as part of being in the Gig Buddies project.

* participants pay for their own food and drinks  (unless a catered event)

We’ll be joining forces to help plant one million native trees.

The following is taken from the National Tree Day website:

“It is proposed that volunteers plant up to 300 indigenous native tube stock in degraded areas of the park to create additional canopy species, establish ground cover, reduce weed invasion and to improve biodiversity & wildlife habitat.

The planting will occur in 2 areas (one an existing planting area) with dry, and rocky clay soil, and a third wet area. The tube stock will be chosen to specifically match the soil characteristics. The activity is located in an iconic park, formerly known as Waratah Park, the home of "Skippy".

The event will be supervised by a qualified bush regenerator & aims to inspire & educate participants to become custodians and actively care for our unique environment.
