What are Gig Buddies Group Social Events?
Gig Buddies group social events are hosted by the GB team so that all signed-up participants* and volunteers in the Gig Buddies project can catch up and do fun stuff in a group setting.
Monthly group social events are held all over Metro Sydney and Central Coast.
* a Gig Buddies participant has mild to moderate learning disability and/or autism
The main focus of the Gig Buddies project is to "buddy-up" participants and volunteers so they can catch up and go to their own events together.
Gig Buddies group social events are a "bonus" way for participants to meet people and socialise.
All group social events are run as "not-for-profit".
Participants only pay for a group social event if they need to cover the cost of admission tickets, venue hire and/or catering.
Group social events are included* as part of being in the Gig Buddies project.
* participants pay for their own food and drinks (unless a catered event)

What: Dinner & Trivia @ The Builders Club, Dee Why
Where : The Builders Club, 18 Fisher Rd, Dee Why NSW 2099 (see map below)

*There will be one Gig Buddies staff member for up to 20 attendees (participants and volunteers combined). If you need extra support, please let us know if you plan on bringing a support worker/support person with you to this event.
What time do we meet? 6:30pm (our table in the bar area is booked under the name 'Gemma')
What time does trivia start? 7pm
What time does the night end? 9 - 9:30pm (approximately)
To access the club, enter from Fisher Road entrance shown below, or via the entrance at the rear in The Builders Club Car Park.
How do I get there? Due to the time the event concludes, it is recommended that attendees either drive, car pool or catch taxis / Ubers. However, the venue is also a very short walk from the Dee Why B1 bus stop.
The Builders Club has a small car park and parking is available on the streets surrounding the club.
How will I get home? For those not driving or car pulling, taxis or Ubers are recommended.

What else do I need to bring?
- Money for food and drinks (debit card)
- ID
- Don’t forget your Opal card if catching public transport
- Phone for pictures and finding staff
- Water
- Mask and sanitiser if you wish

How do I join? Register by getting a ticket from this page (click 'add to bag' in the top right hand corner and enter your details)
Please note:
- Attendees must bring ID.
- Gig Buddies staff will be in attendance, but will not be on hand to provide individual support.
- Getting there: Transport to and from the venue is not supplied. Attendees are responsible for making their own way to and from the venue.
- Getting home: Gig Buddies staff may help attendees with catching public transport, taxis or Ubers home - up until 30 minutes after the scheduled end; Gig Buddies staff are unable to assist attendees who remain at the venue beyond this time.
- Attendees do not need to be paired with a gig buddy to join us. All signed up participants with a current service agreement or volunteers who have completed compliance are welcome to join us.
- COVID-19: If you’re feeling unwell we ask that you do not attend.
- Participants who require extra support must let the Gig Buddies team know if they will be bringing along a support worker or family member to an event. Thank you.

To register for a Group Social Event:
1. Click on the event you want to go to
2. Enter the number of tickets you like then click "add to bag" (many events are FREE!!!)
3. Click "Go to Checkout"
4. Enter your email address and agree to terms and conditions and click "Checkout"
5. Enter your details and click "Place Order"
* you must be a registered Gig Buddies participant with an active Service Agreement or a registered volunteer.
** if you do not sign-up (register) for an event, you will not be able to attend.
