*** Please note: Due to the limited number of places available, and in the interest of fairness, we ask that buddies attend ONE picnic event only.***

What: Gig Buddies picnics in the park

Where: Prince Alfred Park, near Central Station (on Chalmers and Cleveland Streets) - see map below


When: Sunday 22 November

What time does the picnic start? 1:30pm

What time does the picnic end? 3:30pm

How do I get there? Prince Alfred Park can be reached by train or bus, and is a two minute walk from Central Train Station (see map below). Please load up this link to find the best way to get there: https://transportnsw.info


How will I get home? There are many ways to get home from Prince Alfred Park. The same link - https://transportnsw.info - will provide a list of suitable options.

What should I wear? We will be exposed to the elements. Please make sure you pack a hat, sunglasses and sun screen. In the event of colder weather, please wear appropriate clothing.

What else do I need to bring? Bring along a bite to eat, a drink and a blanket. There’s plenty of open space for games - feel free to bring along a bat and a ball. Don’t forget your Opal card and phone or camera to take photos. Please also bring money if you would like to purchase any food or drink either before or after the event.

How do I join? It’s free to join. Register by getting a free ticket from this page (click 'add to bag' in the top right hand corner and enter your details)

Please note:

1 In the event of wet weather and / or a return to lockdown, we will either cancel or postpone for a later date.

2 Gig Buddies Sydney staff will be at the picnic but will not provide individual support.

3 Getting there: Transport to and from the picnic is not supplied. Attendees are responsible for making their own way to and from the picnic.

4 Getting home: Gig Buddies Sydney staff may help attendees with catching public transport, taxis or Ubers home up until 30 minutes after the end of the picnic; Gig Buddies Sydney staff are unable to assist attendees who remain at the picnic/venue beyond this time.

5 Attendees do not need to be paired with a gig buddy to join us. All signed up participants or volunteers are welcome to join us.

6 Picnics will be strictly limited to 20 attendees (including one Gig Buddies Sydney staff member). The number of attendees allowed at each event will not be increased beyond 20. In the event of the picnic selling out, people may add their name to the ‘reservation list’.

7 COVID-19: If you’re feeling unwell we ask that you do not attend. We will be encouraging attendees to socially distance. We recommend attendees bring hand sanitiser. Gig Buddies Sydney takes no responsibility in the event of an attendee falling ill following our picnics.
